Key takeaways
- A PayPal for business account in the UAE needs the company’s registration number, which comes with its licence papers.
- Payouts go in dirhams (AED) to a UAE bank account in the same name, or to an eligible Visa or Mastercard card.
- Verifying the bank account and confirming a card helps lift any withdrawal limit.
What does PayPal ask for?
Five details. A licensed company already holds every one.
| PayPal asks for | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Your legal name | Your passport |
| Business registration number | Your licence papers, from DET or a free zone |
| A short business description | The activity wording on your licence |
| Business bank account details | Your company’s UAE bank account |
| ID, if PayPal asks to verify you | Your passport or Emirates ID |
Describe the business the way your licence activity reads. UAE banks compare that activity with the invoices you raise during KYC reviews, so the PayPal sign-up and your bank application should tell the same story.
How do withdrawals reach your bank?
PayPal pays out in dirhams to the UAE bank account you link.
The names have to match. A company’s PayPal therefore pays out to the company’s own UAE account, and a founder’s personal account cannot take those payouts. An eligible Visa or Mastercard card is the second route.
Plan the bank side early. A corporate account opens only once the licence is issued, and the bank checks who owns the company under Central Bank rules. The bank file holds the memorandum of association and the owners’ and signatories’ IDs, and a commercial bank usually needs several weeks once the file is complete.
PayPal beside a card gateway
A card gateway, if you add one, reviews your business separately.
Its review covers your products and the route money takes to the company. We prepare that file during the bank’s review, so it can go in the day the corporate account opens. Both follow the activity we set on the licence, with DET or your free zone, during your company setup.
