Terms of engagement
The basis on which we accept and deliver advisory engagements.
01Scope of engagement
Every engagement is set in writing before any fees are charged. You receive a written scope before work begins, and we work to it. It states what we will do and what is excluded, and also what we need from you.
If your situation changes or the work needs to expand, we agree the change in writing before proceeding. There are no surprise additions. Regulated work such as audit, tax agency filing and liquidation is performed by appropriately licensed firms.
02Fees
Fees charged by government bodies, authorities and third parties, such as licence fees, visa charges, attestation, notarisation and bank charges, are set by those bodies rather than by us. Your scope is agreed in writing before any work begins, and nothing is added after you accept it.
03No guarantee of approvals
We do not control the decisions of banks or government departments, including authorities such as ICP, GDRFA, the FTA or DET. We cannot and do not promise that any application will be approved. What we do is prepare your submission, with the correct activity and complete documents, so that it has the best chance on its merits. The decision belongs to the relevant authority or bank.
04Client responsibilities
The quality and timing of an engagement depend on you as much as on us. You are responsible for giving us accurate, complete, and truthful information, and for providing the documents we request in a timely manner. Delays or inaccuracies in the information you supply can affect timelines, costs, and outcomes, and are outside our control.
05Confidentiality
We treat the information you share with us as confidential. We use it only to deliver your engagement. It is disclosed only where necessary to complete the work, for example to the relevant authority or bank, or where we are required to by law. Your information is never disclosed to unrelated parties.
06Limitation of liability
We deliver our work with reasonable professional care. To the extent permitted by law, our liability in connection with an engagement is limited to the fees you have paid us for that engagement. We are not liable for outcomes that depend on decisions by third parties such as banks and government authorities. Nor are we liable for losses arising from inaccurate or incomplete information provided to us.
07Governing law
These terms, and any engagement under them, are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates and the Emirate of Dubai. Any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Dubai.
08Information on this website and our role
DM Consultancy is an independent business setup advisory. It works from Office 100A-39, National General Insurance Co. Building, Port Saeed, Deira. Its only website is dm-uae.com.
Our official phone and WhatsApp number is +971 58 556 2152, our email addresses end in @dm-uae.com, and our website is dm-uae.com. Calls are answered Monday to Saturday, 9:30 to 6:30. We are not connected with any other business that uses a similar name; if you are unsure whether a message comes from us, contact us on these channels.
We are not a government authority or a free zone, and we do not issue licences, visas, tax registrations or bank accounts. Each authority and bank makes its own decision. We advise and prepare, and we coordinate with the authorities involved, from the first call to the final document.
Tax registrations are prepared for you to submit on EmaraTax, or through a registered tax agent. For the Golden Visa, we check the route and prepare the file with you.
Fees and rules on this website come from each authority's published sources and are dated where it matters. They can change. Current figures and requirements are confirmed with you in writing before you commit.
